Georgia Show, Never Back Down FREE
Posted by David on Sep 30, 2009 @ 12:10pm

Hey Bloomers!

I don't know about you, but I'm psyched to ride the Gravitron this weekend.  We've got a show at the Rockdale County Fair on Saturday in Georgia, and we're going to get there really early so that we can take many turns on that thing.  I have a much fonder memory of that ride than my mom, I know that.  Not to get graphic...  But she had a hard time holding in her excitement if you catch what I'm throwing up.  Er...  What I'm trying to say is if you're nearby, you should come out, ride some rides with us, and then rock out with us.

Anyhoo, as most of you already know, we're giving away 'Never Back Down' to everyone on the mailing list - so let your friends know!  That'll also keep them up to date as to when the new EP is released, as well as keep them in the loop for freebies (which we plan to give more away).  We're also streaming on Monday Nights around 7pm CST ('Manic Monday') to let everybody in on our practices/recording/editing/writing/goofing off sessions.  This is a product of two nights ago by colemorris.  What does it mean?  Guess you'll have to show up next time...

Dude Perfect has been rockin it with their newest video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDNJxodKrZY  All I can say is if you haven't seen it, prepare for your mind to be blown.

The new EP is progressing well.  We're giving ourselves a lot of deadlines so that we can get it out to you as soon as possible!

Manic Bloom on TV!
Posted by Brink on Sep 23, 2009 @ 6:32pm

Hey everyone. Things have been busy here in Bloom World as of late. We’ve had some pretty sweet things happen for us that will put our music on ten TV shows. That’s right! TEN TV shows. Some of them include: The Real World, The City, and Fame (all on MTV) along with Keeping Up With The Kardashians (on E!) and Bad Girls Club (on Oxygen). We’re pumped about these and we’ll alert you when we know when our music will be used on an episode!

We were asked about two months ago for permission for “What Scares You Most” to be used on a German TV commercial. Of course we were down with the opportunity and here’s the link you can click on to check it out (you might have to watch a commercial before the video starts) .

We’re busy still working on the new album. Recording is a slow process and gets old very quickly, but rest assured, these new songs are gonna be killer! Here’s a clip of one of the new songs!

Still Holding Strong!
Posted by Andy on Sep 8, 2009 @ 8:12am

Hey Bloomers,
Just wanted to take a quick second to let you all know that we are still hitting it hard this week.  We had an amazing Labor Day weekend with 102.9 The Buzz.  We celebrated the graduation of Aljon Go, one of Nashville's most respected radio DJs.  He has been with The Buzz for approximately 15 years I believe, and now is moving on to new adventures, still in Nashville though.  We learned one of his previous band's songs and invited him to play on stage with us.  He tore it up on his Gibson and fun was had by all.  If you missed it, I'm sorry, it was a sight to see.

In other news, we are hoping to meet with Tinderbox this next week or so and find out how our TV licenses are coming along.  We will have that news to you as soon as it becomes available.  Jon Delange, Tinderbox owner, has been keeping us updated as new plans develop.

There are several things in limbo right now that could be huge for Manic Bloom, but we will save that for another day.  As this week drives forward, we are going to be playing at the Rutledge on Wednesday (9/9/09) night, and we hope to see many of you out there with us.  We will also be finishing a few more songs and hope to get a new live feed on UStream as well.

As always, be sure to say hi to us when you are out to our shows or if you see us a the local Tiger Mart.  Have a wonderful day and week.

Dude......... (perfect)
Posted by David on Aug 31, 2009 @ 12:33pm

I know I say this a lot on blogs, but a lot of stuff has been happening in the world of Bloom!

If you haven't heard it, we've got a new song streaming on our website (www.manicbloom.com) that is also appearing in a new Dude Perfect video!  The visuals do not disappoint - I'm always left with my jaw on the ground wondering how these shots are physically possible.  The guys called us last week wanting to use a song from our upcoming EP, so we scrambled to get a version of 'Never Back Down' created.  It's not going to be the same version as the one on the actual EP, but we're incredibly happy with what we were able to do.

We've been recording a lot - Brink was banging the drums on Saturday for a solid 8 hours at Sunset Blvd studios in Brentwood - huge thanks to Steve Dady for helping us get the sound we need, and letting us use such an awesome studio!  (If you're in the Nashville area and need a studio, look him up)

We were on the local buzz last night with Tony Stone, which is always awesome.  We're playing a show at the Rutledge in Nashville on Saturday, and a few of the bands on the bill were interviewing to give a litle promo.  We're also playing the Rutledge next wednesday - Sept 9 - so if you're in the Nashville area either of those nights, we'd love to see you!

Hopefully more news soon about our partnership with Tinderbox for College Radio and TV placement, and maybe some more snippets of songs!  (You'll soon be able to preorder the new EP and get a download of Never Back Down free, but I haven't been able to set that up yet.  If you want to be notified when that's ready, go to our store page and sign up)

We've gotten some emails/messages/comments lately that have seriously lifted our spirits and kept us motivated through this recording process!  You're all awesome!  We can't do this without you!

TV/Recordingness
Posted by Andy on Aug 25, 2009 @ 8:43am

It is very fun to see how our lives unfold day in and day out.  With this past week bringing some very, very exciting news our way, we are constantly looking to the brighter future of making Manic Bloom a full time job....AKA -- play time for the big kids!

This past week we met with College Radio/Reality TV Guru Jon Delange.  He has been looking at getting Manic Bloom into some TV shows for this fall and we are very excited to have him on our team.  His comrades at Tinderbox have also been helping us with getting some good College Radio play...., by the way, please call your local college radio station and request us.  (Click the MB on the radio link to the right)

On another note, we have had a partnership with Dude Perfect, who does the amazing basketball videos online.  They have asked us again to participate in their new upcoming video.  This has caused a frenzy of Manic Bloomocity at the Dungeon to create and record one of our newest songs a little sooner than expected.  The only thing done as of this past week was guitar.  Thus,  Hilde has been glued to the recording gear day in and day out this week making some mad beats and David is recording some sic vocals.  Soon the Bass and Drums will be laid down this week and we will send it off to the "Dudes".  Hope to notify you soon on this exciting event!

All in all, we are doing as much as we can with the little time we have away from our day jobs and hope to make this fall a huge success for Manic Bloom.  As always, thank you for your support and we couldn't do it with out you.  Last night, when we were streaming live for our practice, it was a delight to have so many people interacting with us in real time.  We love you all.

Peace,
Roo

Ay mate, no worries
Posted by Hildee on Aug 16, 2009 @ 8:15pm

For the last year and a half, me and the rest of the guys that reside at The Dungeon have had the privilege of living with a good ole bloke from Australia. We met Gary through extraordinary circumstances but, as result, have formed a great friendship with him. So much so, that on certain days I'd go so far as to say that he'd maybe consider us kinsmen. If we could only figure out how to speak in that cool accent......shoot, we'd practically be shoe-in honorary Australians, not to mention a lot more interesting people at the parties. All we'd have to do is drop a little bit of that Aussie dialect on 'em and we'd be an instant +10 cooler. Wouldn't even have to be profound.....something like "Ay mate, no worries. Oy!! Ooroo!!" And then flash them a great Aussie smile and we'd be gold.

Anyways, I bring all that up b/c last night I got to meet one of Gary's friends from his younger years (Steve, he's also Australian). Steve happens to be in the States for business and decided to pay a Gary a visit while he's here. From what I learned, it's been over 20 years since they last saw or talked each other. And the cool thing about it was that you couldn't even tell. It was as if they had never gone a day without communicating. Seeing that got me thinking about how relationships truly are the most important thing in life. Talking to Gary, I realize how medicinal Steve's visit was....how perfectly timed it was. And not only for him, but for Steve as well. There is nothing like the healing affect a friendship can have on your life. Last night, I saw that in full effect. And it made my week.

Being so moved I felt that it was only necessary to show them......the NEW ALBUM!!! Yeah, that's right. I showed them every last song we are working on. To date, they are the only humans in the world who have heard all 8 songs (well besides us, of course.....and maybe our parents and spouses) But other than that....the ONLY HUMANS IN THE WORLD!!!! Their reaction after listening? Let me put it to you this way.....they had to do some of laundry afterward. I was flattered, but at the same time a little embarrassed for their sakes. Good thing I didn't mention their last names earlier. Maybe I'll just tuck this information away until I have a more pressing need for it. : )

One last note: Burn and I recorded the music for the last song on the album (potentially) this weekend, tentatively titling it “Mama.” It was a whirlwind experience and when we were done we both were kind of shocked as to how well it came out. It's a departure from what we normally write and play, but we feel that it's necessary to strive to show as many sides of Manic Bloom possible. Just like in life, we are all made up of a ton of different experiences. So we feel it is only appropriate to reflect that in our music. An eclectic bunch, we are. Often I laugh at the fact that I’ve never seen such a random group of audiophiles with such random musical backgrounds as us. It's really kind of funny. However, I believe that it’s in this diversity that we find the essence of our creativity. I don’t know how it occurs, but wonderfully strange things happen when we put our heads together. However, that is another story for another time. Alas, I must leave you now because this blog is honestly too long. : )

Ticking Time Bomb
Posted by Andy on Aug 4, 2009 @ 10:09am

What's up Bloominators?  I hope you have all had a great weekend and listened/watched/read all things new with Manic Bloom.  As you may or may not know, we are in the thick of recording and finishing up final writing of the new tunes....I think you will like them even more than the last.  This new record is like a Ticking Time Bomb, when it drops....LOOK OUT!  Check out some clips in previous blogs.

Burn has been tearing it up on the Dungeon this past week with laying down the guitar tracks and they are really starting to sound amazing.  David, Brink and Roo have been hitting the college radio really hard this past week or two(as you all should be as well...ha, ha) and found out that Manic Bloom has charted already on some College Radio stations.  That is exciting for us!

If you watched our Ustream last night you all heard that Hilde, Mr. Keys himself is not in the band any more because ....well, we kicked him out for leaving us to go to Colorado for a week and a half.....I KID, I KID...(I think we kick someone out of the band at least once a week) we didn't kick him out, but he has been enjoying the best state in the US of A...Holla Colorado.  I love it there!

As always, please keep us up to date on how you all are through our My Space or here on the wonderful www.manicbloom.com website.

Be well and Manify your Bloomacity!....what?   I don't know....

Peace,

Roo

At The Board Again
Posted by Matt on Aug 1, 2009 @ 1:04pm

Hey Bloomers,
I don't have a ton of time, but I wanted to give you all a quick update and another little sneak peek at the new record.  I've been sitting in our studio all day (Hildee's room), working on some guitar parts.  I recently got a new guitar, and so far I'm loving the way it sounds...thanks Guitar Center.  Everything on this mix was recorded here, but we're gonna get into a real studio sometime soon to record the drums, so they'll sound even better.  We'll keep sending out snippets as we get more recorded, so keep checking back, and sign up for our mailing list on the right.  Hope you like what you hear.

Just Another Manic Monday
Posted by Matt on Jul 28, 2009 @ 5:27am

Hey Bloomers,

So yesterday was a great Manic Monday.  We all spent some time calling college radio stations (www.manicbloom.com/?p=radio), we ended up winning tickets to a belly dancing show (http://bit.ly/11jdrZ), and we streamed an hour's worth of us recording guitar for our new album (http://bit.ly/6FpOS).  And to all of you that joined us in the chatroom during the streaming, that was awesome!  We'll be doing it again next week on Monday, so make sure to tell your friends and come back.

Also, we're really excited about the street team we're getting started (FINALLY!!!).  Some names have been thrown out for the team, and it seems like the most popular so far is Manic Mafia.  Let us know what you think.  One of our team members is working on a flyer for our September 9th show, and we're gonna have a street team/ Manic Bloom flyer posting party around town, so make sure and let us know if you're interested in joining us.

Other than that, it's all about recording right now.  The next few weeks will probably be focused on guitar, and we think we're going into the studio on August 16th to record drums (the only thing we can't do at the crib).  As we get more snippets for you we'll let you hear what we're working on.

College Radio!
Posted by David on Jul 13, 2009 @ 9:34pm

Ladies and Gentlemens!

Today (tuesday - it might be today depending on what time zone you're in...) marks a monumental occasion for Manic Bloom...  It's our first radio add date!

What's that, you ask?  Well, we mailed our EP to 300 college radio stations all over the US and Canada, and today is basically the release date for the stations to play our music.  Sooooo - PLEASE call your favorite station (college or not) and ask them to play some Manic Bloom!!  We have some cool folks over at Tinderbox Music promoting our tunes to the stations (calling and asking what the DJs/listeners think), and we're pumped to see how things turn out.

In unrelated news, we're all pretty pumped about the newest installment of Harry Potter coming out this week...  All of us except for Roo have read all of the books - he will soon succumb as well!  I also just watched Twilight (Matt and Hildee have read all of those) and I'm thinking I might need to read those as well!  Thoughts?
