3rd & 5th, Vlogs, Litter Box
Hello Manic Maniacs,
Just wanted to fill you all in with how things are shaping up for the band. 1st and foremost, we want to extend another huge THANK YOU to each one of you....seriously, everyone of you for getting on Ourstage.com and giving us your vote. We unfortunately came out just short of winning it all. We ended the month with 3rd (What Scares You Most) and 5th (Everything I Saved You From), which we are very happy with and hope that when and if we come back around to getting the final spot again, we can come up with a win next time. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
We also want you all to know that we are working on a couple new videos...one will hope to be a great 1st Vlog for you all to see us in action away from the stage....be watching for some good down home Manic Memories. Also, as many of you already know, we shot a live video of a performance at the Rutledge in January, and it is very close to being done for your viewing pleasure.
Everyday we are trying to make better, bigger music for you and working on blowing your mind even more the next time we see you. Please be sure to say hi to us when you see us, whether it is at the show, after the show, at Publix, at Buckle, Otter's, or even cleaning the litter box. We want to talk to you, because you make us exist. We love you all and hope that each of you are well in your own crazy way.
Stay Sic,
Roo and Manic Bloom

Last six hours!
We're down to the last six hours of voting, and it's been crazy. People are jumping all over the place on the top 10. We've been from #1 to #8, back to #1, down to #4, you get the point. Once again, tell your friends and go vote yourself at
www.Ourstage.com. The more you vote, the more it counts. We'll give a free song to anybody that goes out and votes for awhile too.
Thanks again,
Manic Bloom

We're in the finals - today's the last day!
Once again, we have amazing fans! You were all amazing the past few days, and we ended up winning in Rock and Alt. Rock and then starting out in the #1 and #2 spot for the Finals. However, we've since dropped to #3 and #8.
Here's where we really need help. Obviously, we're up against the songs that won each genre, meaning they probably have their own group of dedicated people voting for them as well.
So, once again, if you're able to, vote for us today, tell your friends to vote for us, post blogs about it, facebook, etc. Just tell everyone to go to Ourstage.com, register and VOTE. It ends tonight at 11pm Central.
We love you all and appreciate how dedicated you are.

We Need Your Help...again!
WE NEED YOUR HELP…again. We're #1 right now on Ourstage and there's only three days left of voting. You can win once per calendar year, so even though we won in October, we can win again this month. We realized in October just how amazing our fans were, and how supportive you all are. We've already used some of the money from October to pay off a piece of equipment, pay for a video we had recorded at The Rutledge, and we're about to give 10% of it to two different charities.
So now we actually have the chance to win again, and we're really hoping you guys can pull through for us. Post blogs about it, message your friends on Myspace and facebook, and of course vote yourself.
Here's what you need to do…Go to www.Ourstage.com and register at the top right. Register as a "Music Lover", confirm your email address, and then hit "Judge" at the top. Make sure you're on "Rock" when you're judging, because that's where we're #1 with "What Scares You Most". However, "Everything I Saved You From" is currently #4 in Alt. Rock, so if you have time you can also vote for that song. We're trying to focus on Rock though.
There are 10 songs right now being pitted against each other in each genre, so that makes a little over 50 total battles to judge. Three days left of voting, so hit it hard, and hopefully we'll come out on top Saturday night.

I couldn't think of a title...
Hey folks!
Lots of stuff has been going on! We played a show at the Rutledge a couple of weeks back with Kevin Max, and filmed it, so hopefully we'll have a high quality live video to post soon... We've got the one on our myspace right now, but it was just a regular handheld camera (there's more up on YouTube, though - thanks ManicBloomFan!) - this one was shot with three fancy-schmacy cameras! We haven't seen it yet, but we're looking forward to sharing it when we do!
We also played in Atlanta last week with High Flight Society, Love Like This, and Hanna Barbarian - a good time was had by all, and once again, the East Atlanta Icehouse had some
amazing food. I had a reuben that I pretty much had to eat with a fork. Heaven on a plate, my friends.
This past friday we had another show at the Rutledge here in Nashville with Luke and the Latenights and Street Corner Champs. I really like the Rutledge - great room, great sound system, great food, and great people. Probably my favorite venue we've played in Nashville.
We've also been talking to some management folks. Not a whole lot to speak of yet, but as soon as there is, we'll tell you! We're very excited about the possibilities!
Hopefully you'll start seeing some video blogs soon - we've shot the footage for at least 1 (maybe two), but haven't had time to edit it yet. (It's hard to do all this stuff with full time jobs, you know!)
If you check us out on Ourstage.com again - we're in the top 20 on two different charts! Rock - What Scares You Most, Alt Rock - Everything I Saved You From. We'll keep you in the know about what's going on there - we'd love it if you surfed over there to help us out!!
As always - if you sign up to our
mailing list, you get a free song (if you signed the sheet on Friday, you just haven't been added to the list yet, because it's still in the merch box! We'll get you in there tomorrow)!
Thanks to everybody that continues to support us! Sorry this was so long - it's been a while since we've posted!

Want to be in our Video? The Rutledge-Jan 9th
Hey Bloomers,
We're really excited, cause WE'RE FILMING A VIDEO this Friday night (Jan. 9th) at the Rutledge (www.myspace.com/therutledgelmv). We've hooked up with an awesome production company, Digital Bohemia. You can check out their stuff at www.myspace.com/digitalbohemia.
The whole show's gonna be filmed, as well as before and after we play, so get your friends together and come be in a video!
Also, we're opening up for Kevin Maxx (formerly of DC Talk), so the show's gonna be great anyways. The doors open at 8, and we go on first at 9, so make sure to be there in time. Kevin Maxx goes on right after us.

Toynbee
Hey guys, we wanted to give a preview of a song that we've been working on. It's a rough "demo" version, but we think its cool, nonetheless. Hope you all like it. We'll be putting more up shortly.
-Brink
------ Lyrics added ------
These are the only lyrics that are keeper right now:
I saw the future, it was dirty,
but I told you it's clean
I had a vision we could change it
with a twist to the human machine
With blood and water, wood and fire
I perfect the scene
Joy electric, Live Forever
Now this completes the measure of my scheme

New Songs!!!!!!!!!
So I just wanted to give everybody a heads up that we are starting to work on some new material. Now I want to be respectful of all the effort that was put in to the EP we released in May, but at the same time, I'm absolutely geeking out about what we've got brewing. I mean, like I can't freaking wait for people to hear. We've got about 6 to 7 songs in the mix that we are trying to complete and record. I have no idea when they will be done but just know that we are working away in the dungeon to get this stuff to you as soon as we possibly can.
If you live in Nashville, please come out to our show on the 9th at the Rutledge at 8pm. It's going to be a pretty big deal for us because we are filming it. The footage will then be consolidated and used to make a live performance music video that we'll be putting up all over the web to show the world what Manic Bloom is like live. So, please, come out and support the effort. We'd love to see you there.
I ate sushi tonight....it was amazing. I suggest you eat some yourself. Get to it.
Oh, yeah, and if you haven't already, check out the video we posted on our myspace page of us playing one of our new songs live. Its called "Answer."

Hysteria
----Warning: David is ranting----
We're a strange culture.
Yesterday evening, it snowed in Nashville. Not the usual flurry, or the promise of snow that cancels schools before a single flake falls. No - it actually stuck to the ground - almost an inch of the cold stuff! Before it happened, the news weathermen were pretty excited to talk about it, and thus the frenzy begins.
Now - I'm originally from about two hours north in Western Kentucky where we would generally get at least 2 - 3 of these coverings every winter (and usually more), so I guess I just have more experience with it... But seriously. As I drove home last night, cars were on the side of the road, most traffic was moving at 4mph, and people were seriously
FREAKING OUT. I was at a standstill for a while, occasionally moving a car length, and when I rounded a curve, I realized that people were stopped because only one car was going up a small hill at a time. On a 4 lane road. With a turn lane in the middle. I have to chuckle when people with gigantic SUVs have to turn around because they're afraid of a little slush. Took me almost an hour longer to get home.
Same thing this morning - a guy was stopped in the middle of the lane with his emergency lights on when there was a turning lane to his right. I jumped out and asked if he needed a push, and he looked kind of terrified that I would suggest such a thing. We ended up pushing it to the curb
very easily, and traffic could again flow freely. I was stopped by another guy who said that the road up ahead was blocked - just turn around because there's no way through. I thanked him, and continued on to a perfectly undisturbed drive.
Which brings me to the economy. People have been calling this the worst financial crisis since the depression. What confuses me, though, is that we've only had one quarter in which our economy was in the negative (-0.3!!), and spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday was actually
up from last year.
People actually died because of how much people wanted to buy things. I shudder for the future of our culture.
Yes, I understand times are tougher than a year ago. People have lost jobs, and houses are foreclosing slightly more (200% of 1 is just 2... But 200% sounds more fantastic!). But at the same time, small businesses are thriving and most people haven't stopped buying fancy TVs.
Who are you going to believe? The people trying to sell advertisements on their news station/paper, who know that people pay attention to gloom and doom? Or
people that don't profit from simply telling you the truth*?
I'm afraid we follow far too easily. We eat what we are fed. Sometimes I wonder just how close to the edge we really are... How close to "every man for himself" we really are...
Just the ramblings of a guy who wants truth more than fitting in...

*By the way - I realize Dave Ramsey has things you can buy. However - he has a 3 hour radio show every day in which he tells you everything he has in his books. He's a smart man who is not swayed by money - because he has enough of it not to need my $30.

Radio Interviews
Hellow Friends,
Well, I hope that your bellies are all still full from Thanksgiving leftovers...especially since it has been a little bit since we have reached out. I just want to start by saying, once again, thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and love to help us win both the Alt. Rock and Final Grand prizes for October on Ourstage.com. We could not have done it with out you.
This past couple weeks have been a crazy turn of events. Burn has moved into his own house and out of the apartment. He has a big building in the back, currently dubbed the "Man Cave" that we will all be getting our Pool/Ping Pong/Football Bashing on. In the midst of helping Matt move, I had some kind of allergic reaction that I'm still trying to beat....(please pray). The benadryl is helping, but not curing it. Hilde has gone on sabbatical to Texas for a couple weeks to hang Christmas lights. He will be back this week, and we are all looking forward to his return so we can start practicing and writing some new material. Brink has been spending lots of time connecting with some of our peeps in Atlanta for a new/fresh look at what Manic Bloom might soon become in the near future. David is enjoying the wonderous thoughts of the day he can do music full time with the band. (As we all are looking for that day to come sooner than later.
Please tune in tonight to 102.9 the Buzz (WBUZ) call and request us 615-737-1029. We will be on somewhere between 9-12 Central Time and tomorrow night (12/1) we will be on 91.1 (WRVU). Let us know if you listen and let us know what you like and would like to hear.
Thank you all again for making this happen for us, and please keep the word of Manic Bloom out and around for all to enjoy.
Much Love,
Roo
Manic Bloom
