Blog
News, News, News!
Manic Maniacs,
Roo here, comin' to ya from the Music City with some really cool news to share. We, Manic Bloom, have had some great things happening in the past few weeks. If you keep up with our blog, you already know that we snagged the "Best New Artist" from 102.9 the Buzz. What you may not know is that we also have a video on You Tube that has blown up in the past couple weeks called "Dude Perfect". Have to give a shout out to them for doing an awesome job on video and promotion.
Dude Perfect on YouTube Speaking of Videos, we have added a video section to our website that we would love for you to check out. Also, there are several new videos out on YouTube with Manic Bloom involved (Check out
Kampy - Running from the Scene) and we would like to encourage you all to let us know when new videos are posted. We will do our best to help promote your video on our pages if it has Manic Bloom music, pictures, and/or videos involved. We may even have some contests coming soon for "best/most creative video submission" which could include prizes behind door #1 and door #2....ha, ha.
Artist Garden Management, led by Keith and Diana Stancil are helping Manic Bloom in every decision from what they determine is a good song to which under garments we should wear....like the David's pastel yellow Manic Bloomers or Burn's shimmy ruffled chaps....but in all seriousness, we are extremely proud to be called one of Artist Garden's first of many great bands. We hope to develop a very close knit family that will grow and bloom into something so good it is unimaginable. The industry is full of people that don't care about the person, but only the money and Keith and Diana have proved time and time again that they are interested in communicating success in more ways than one....especially with truth and camaraderie.
Wednesday night we played for a Prophetik Clothing fashion show in Nashville. The clothing was amazing and it was a beautiful evening under the stars. A good time was had by all and DJ Andy from London rocked out with us all night. Check out Prophetik at
http://www.prophetik.com/
On another note, we are headed to Ashland, OH tonight and tomorrow for SpringFest and back to Nashville (Murfreesboro) on Sunday for the Benefit for the Boro. If you are close to Nashville, please come down and support everyone that is giving for the victims of the tornadoes a couple weeks ago.
We love you all and thank you again and again for your support. And as always, please come and converse with us at each and every show. We will be glad to talk to you and look forward to seeing you out on the road.
Love you guys,
Roo

We're pumped to let everyone know that we won "Best New Artist" at the 102.9 Local Buzz Awards this past friday night at the Rutledge!

102.9 is the most popular radio station in Nashville, and Aljon & Tony at the Local Buzz have been supporting us for the past year by playing "What Scares You Most" regularly. We've also done two studio interviews with them.
Thanks to everybody that has been supporting us and helped make this happen!!

Where to begin?
Lots of stuff going on in Manic Bloomia...
We mentioned a while back that we're working with a new management team, Artist Garden Entertainment. Well, they've been making things happen! Because of it, we're most likely playing at an Earth Day bash in Nashville with a really cool fashion company called Prophetik on April 22. They’ve also been trying to get our music placed in film/tv stuff. I’ll let you know more on that when the time is right.
In case you didn’t hear, we’re nominated for Best New Artist for Nashville’s 2009 Local Buzz Rock Awards (the Buzzies)! There’s an awards show going on this friday at The Rutledge - say hi if you’re there!
We also reached the semi-finals in two Battle of the Bands contests - we’re playing at Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis on 4/17 for one, and at the Rutledge on 5/8 for the SAE Battle of the Bands. (SAE is a sound engineering school in Nashville)
I’ve been working on our website lately - www.manicbloom.com - though not fast enough for my personal taste! We want to give everybody all things MB in one location! For starters, we’re planning on putting up our interview from Sunday on the Local Buzz up later tonight. Yell at us if we haven’t done it…
There’s a possibility that we’re playing at a college in NC this weekend… We’ll post that as soon as we have specifics.
On top of all that, we’re trying to figure out some time to record some of our new songs, as well as finish writing a handful. Hopefully, we’ll have a slew of new tunes to share with you before you know it! (come to a show to hear them before they’re recorded!)
I’m almost positive that I’ve missed something… My ear is swollen if anybody wants to know about that! :)

I got my flippy floppies....
Peeps,
Hildee here to give you a much needed update on all things Manic Bloom. After a pretty crazy weekend last week, we have settled back down nicely after playing a show at the Red Gorilla Festival in Austin, Texas. This particular fest runs along side SXSW and is never one to disappoint. We played to a packed house on the roof of a club (The Blind Pig) that's a staple on the legendary 6th Street. We've got tons of pics and hours of video footage to go through but rest assured that once we look at it all, we'll post tons of stuff for you to see/hear/feel/etc...
Onto a topic surrounded with much anticipation....recording. We have narrowed down some dates in April (13-14th and 18-19th) that we are looking at as to when we'd like to record. Well be working on anywhere from 3 to 6 new songs. We aren't exactly sure of what we'll do with these new songs (put them on a new EP, combine them with the old EP, or sell them only digitally) but we are mulling that decision over as I type this. One thing is for certain, these new songs are going to be SICK!!!! We learned a lot about the writing process when we made our EP last May, so we've been eager to see how are lessons learned will lend themselves on our future writing endeavors. You will recognize some of the new material, where the rest will be completely new stuff no one has ever heard. Needless to say, we are excited.
Also, we just put up a new shirt design on our online store. You can get one there or at any show we play. Check it out

Exciting News!!!!
Hey everyone, just want to relay some cool news. Manic Bloom is now being managed by Artist Garden Entertainment. Its been a long search, and now owners Keith and Diana Stancil are heading up the Manic Bloom team. Artist Garden is a new company being run the Stancils, they have quite a bit of experience (Keith worked with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, one of my favorite bands!!!) in the music industry and we're excited to have them giving us advice and helping us "run the ship".
It'll be a breath of fresh air knowing that we now have a competent, experienced team to go to for answers to all our questions and concerns. We look forward to the future with them and are hopeful for exciting things to come!
Check them out
here.Thank you, all you faithful friends and fans for being such an inspiration and encouragement. You'll be hearing big things from us soon!

Request Manic Bloom on the radio
Manic Bloom wants to be heard on the radio, and we need your help. Here are some of the stations in our area. If you know of any other stations that would play our music, let us know and we'll update this list.
Just call and request "Running From The Scene" by Manic Bloom. If they say they don't have it in their system, tell them that they should talk to their program manager about adding it. Also, let us know and we'll make sure to send them a cd, if we haven't already

Clark Kent at 12th & Porter
Ahhhhh.
It's good to sleep in.
Last night we had an incredibly fun show with Halo Stereo and Caprice. It was the first time we've played 12th & Porter, and it was everything I hoped it would be. I've seen many a show there, and it's one of the best venues in Nashville in my opinion. HUGE sound in a fairly small room, so you feel it in your bones.
It was great to see new faces - and very cool to see a handful of out-of-towners! When I say out-of-towners, I don't meet from Clarksville - though I like those folks too! I talked to two sets of people from far away - one set from MI - Ryan and Tiana - and one set from Baltimore (or was it Boston?) - Barry and Brian. The second set was a funny encounter... Started talking to them as I was coming out of the women's bathroom. Hope that doesn't make you nervous... Anyhow, the crowd was great, and I could feel the energy moving through the room.
Man, I love playing music with my bandmates. I was thinking this morning - it's a lot like Superman and Clark Kent. When it's music time, I feel like I can fly or I'm able to pick up a bus. After that, it's time to put on the glasses. I always love the day after a show, because I wake up still feeling like Superman, just wearing my Clark clothes. I wonder if Superman just wished he could always wear his spandex on the outside?
A reminder - if you sign up to our
Mailing List you'll get a free download - right now it's a live acoustic version of "1000 Angels", but thanks to some really cool guys, we're hopefully going to have some remixed version of two of our songs. It's on us though - we haven't gotten all the files to them that we need to.
We're gearing up for RedGorilla in Austin, TX soon. Very much looking forward to that.
Again - thanks to everyone that came out last night and talked and rocked with us! We can't do this without you!

It was the best of times...
The past couple weeks have been tough for Manic Bloom. As hopefully you all know, we have a big show coming up this Friday at 12th & Porter, and there has been a lot frustration about trying to make sure we get enough time to practice for it. We have a couple new songs that we’re hoping to unveil soon, but we’re sadly not going to be able to yet, cause after trying them out we still feel like we’re not ready for them to be performed live yet. One of the songs is the newest song we have on our page, “Toynbee”, which we’re all really excited about. If you guys like the song, let us know, and we’ll make it a big priority for our upcoming shows. Even after some tough times and some difficult conversations this week though, Manic Bloom is still a close group of brothers and none of us want to play music with anybody else.
Now, about the show…it’s this Friday at 9:00 pm, at 12th & Porter, here in Music City. We’re really pumped about playing with Halo Stereo and Caprice. If you haven’t listened to these bands, go check them out, cause they are AWESOME! In fact, I met Tony from Caprice recently, cause he’s probably going to sell me my new guitar when I have the money (you can help me get there by going to manicbloom.com and buying our merch…j/k…no, but seriously…j/k).
So come out and hang out with us this Friday, and bring your friends. If you can bring three people other than yourself, we’ll give you a free cd. Who knows, maybe if you bring a lot, we might throw in a free shirt. The flyer for the show is in our pics, so it’d be great if you could help us promote the show to your friends. And, to all the people from Tullahoma, we really hope to see some of you there. I know it’s a bit of trek (not Star), but we’d love to see you. We had a blast at Tullahoma, and soon we’ll have video up from that show and the skate competition that was going on.

NEW VIDEOS
Today marks a monumental occasion; no, a splendiferous occasion. Either
way you look at it, we’ve got big news. Not only have we posted our first ever
music video, we’ve also posted our very first video blog. For those few who
may not know the difference …the former details a live music performance,
while the latter is a chronicling of our thoughts and impressions on life (which,
if I’m honest, is fancy talk for “actin’ a fool”).
Many moons ago, during one of our storied think-tank sessions,
we queried at what could be done, in addition to writing and performing, to offer
you, the fan, a chance to see us in our natural environment; a chance to see us
doing what we do on a day to day basis. Be that practicing, joking around, or
just shootin’ you straight, we wanted to get these things on tape b/c, let’s be
honest, some of it is gonna be straight up comedic gold. So with that said, we
hope you enjoy.
On a different note, we’ve begun the process of going back
into the studio. We have 5-7 songs that we are looking to record. In the end,
we think that the new material is going to sit nicely with the five tracks on
the EP. We haven’t made a final decisions by any means, but we are thinking
about combining the new with the old to make a full length album. But don’t worry;
if you have already purchased the EP, you won’t have to pay for the same
songs again. By the time it comes out, we’ll have worked out a nifty little
“returning customer” plan for those of you who need the upgrade.
Other than that, we are just trucking along. We’re going to
Texas in March to play the Red Gorilla Festival, so be on the look-out for
that.
As always, hit us up. We love hearing from you.
Hildee, out.
