Behind the Scene - PERIOD!
Posted by Andy on May 19, 2009 @ 7:36am

There are so many details that go into being a band.  I have to admit, when I was younger and just dreaming of being a RockStar, I never imagined all that frivolous work that each band member had to do to uphold a high standard of nobility and integrity in the name of Rock.  I thought they just write the songs, produce them and get up there and bleed and sweat for the fun of music. Oh, no!  On the contrary, there is much more to it than that...especially when just starting out.   Not very many people think about the booking, the web design, loading and unloading equipment, the writing and more writing, loading and unloading equipment, the disagreements between band members in stylistic point of views, the wife, the girlfriend, the parents, the day job, the website upkeep, the flyers, the booking of other bands on your bill, the press, the airplay, the calling of the venue, loading and unloading equipment, finding time to meet during the week to practice, time to relax (what's that???), meet with the manager, record a CD, loading and unloading equipment, keep up with the fans and always, ALWAYS wear a smile when in public, blog, try to fit a meal in here and there, exercise to keep up on stage with the band that is just a little better than you, "Image is everything in this industry"...fashion, fashion, fashion, The shower, shave, and brush your teeth in a gas station restroom....I could go on, but you get the pictures....if it were only as easy as grabbing my bass, plugging in night after night and playing our music. PERIOD.  I guess we will look back when that finally happens and say, Remember when.....

WE LOVE YOU ALL!

Hey all, Brink here. Soooooo true Roo. So much really does go into all that is required to lift a young band off the ground. I had the same notions when I was younger dreaming of rockstardom as well. Oh how quickly we learn, right? But, I firmly believe that anything in life that's worth having or doing doesn't come easily. I know that when Manic Bloom is moving and is a part of big things, then we'll appreciate the blood, sweat, and tears even more. What helps so much in this process are the fans and people we encounter on this road. We couldn't do any of it without you guys.
Peace and love.

Hey Roo, and all other band members!

You guys were among the coolest I talked to during SXSW,
So, thank you for being so rad, even if it is work to be.

I appreciate all your work :]

Hey guys! I totally feel you on this blog entry, it is so much hard work to be in this industry, probably because there are hundreds of artists doing what you do, so you have to keep up and shine pass them. If it means anything, I think you guys are headed on the right path to super stardom, instead of just staying still not going anywhere while still working hard. I always wish you guys success and I know you all have the talent to get where you want to be. Good luck dudes.
