Recording Process

This is a place to keep up with what's happening in the recording process. So far we've recorded everything but bass and vocals. We know that normally drums and bass are recorded first, but we're doing it a little backwards out of necessity. We recorded the drums at our friend's studio, Sunset Blvd Studios, in Franklin, but the rest is being recorded at home. Tonight, we're working on some vocals and might try to get to a little bass. Check back this weekend for some more updates.

Today Andy and I got together to try to finish the bass.  Our EP is going to have five songs and we had finished two songs on bass so far.  It seemed to go pretty quick once we got started.  The main problem we were facing was the monitor mix, since Andy likes to hear a lot of his bass in the headphones.  Also, we were having some trouble getting any punch on the bass, but overall it went well.  Andy plays a Warwick bass and we used a D6 on the cab (Eden) and also direct in.

Now that we've finished bass, we still have two songs left to finish on lead vocals, harmonies on all the songs, and some keyboard to record.  We also might go back and re-record the guitar on "Betrayer", since it sounds really thin.  It's a slow process and we're all ready to get this EP finished and focus completely on booking and playing shows.
