A Month of Firsts

Since we last posted, tons of things have happened. To everybody that we've met along the road...thank you so much for coming out to our shows and spending some time with us. Getting to play in front of people has got to be one of the greatest feelings in the world. Really, there aren't many other reasons why we're doing this. So come out as often as you can, and please, don't forget to say hi and let us know what's be going down with you.

Quick side note: When we were in New Castle we got to play at a venue called the Building. During our set, we blasted the system so loud that, literally, pieces of the ceiling were falling on us as we played. So I guess, technically, we almost rocked the place to down. I couldn't help but laugh when we were finished  because there were little bits of debris all over our equipment and the stage. To date, this was the first time our music actually became dangerous. In fact, we were so loud, a guy living in the apartments across the street could hear us. After the show he told us that he HAD to come and see what was going on...if I'm not mistaken, he bought a CD before he left because he said he dug what he was hearing through his walls. Now that's just cool.

Moving on...a couple of weeks ago we had the privilege of being interviewed on 89.1 WNAZ. It's a station affiliated with Trevecca University. One of the station's DJ's, MJ, was kind enough to call us up after we sent her a copy of the EP to hopefully get some airplay. Not only did it get played, but it somehow landed us the chance to be a featured band during one of their weekly segments for local artists. The entire process was incredibly fun, seeing as it was Manic Bloom's very first radio interview. In my opinion, the highlight of the hour had to of been when we got to perform a song live, right there in the studio....or maybe it was when we helped MJ figure out the riddle that's written on the EP disc. She seemed fascinated by the idea of our secret section on manicbloom.com. Either way, our time there flew by. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to hear the interview yet, but from what people have told us, it all went over pretty well. So, again, we want to say thanks to WNAZ and MJ for giving us a platform to hopefully spread some more MB over Nashville.

Yesterday brought another first-time experience for the band as well. Sometime around 5pm, David, Brink, and I were interviewed on channel 43 WKAG in Hopkinsville, TN. Yep, we were on TV, baby!! It was all a part of the city's promotional effort for the Fall Fun Fest that is happening there on Sept. 27. Another quick note of coolness...we were told sometime before the interview that we were going to be the headlining act at the festival. That will also be something we've yet to do as a band. So, naturally, we are all very much looking forward to playing that day.

We've been working on some new songs lately so hopefully in the coming weeks we'll get to play them for you. So keep your eyes and ears peeled because you never know when something might pop up on our myspace page. Also, as soon as we get a copy of the radio interview, we'll try and put it up on our page for you to hear.

Thanks again for all the support. Drop us a line anytime...we are always interested in what's going on with you.
